FAQ For Health Screening

  • 1. I have no known medical problems but my family members do. Do I need to go for any screening tests?

Your doctor may recommend you to go for general or specific screening tests that you may need depending on your health profile and the corresponding risk factors.

If your family has medical history of a certain disease, it would be beneficial to test for it. If you have signs of risk factors for certain diseases, it would be beneficial to go for a screening test too.

  • 2. What should I do prior to the health screening?

You would need to fast for a minimum of 8 hours before the screening to ensure accuracy of the results of your cholesterol profile and glucose tests. No food or drinks are allowed during the fasting period except for plain water.

  • 3. Can I still take medication before the test?

As you will be fasting for blood tests, kindly withhold all medications except for anti-hypertensive medications. You should take them after the tests are done. For ultrasound, exercise stress test or echocardiogram, you may continue consuming your medications as usual.

  • 4. Will I be able to go for the screening if I am pregnant?

Yes you can. It would always be beneficial to know your body’s status especially during pregnancy.

  • 5. How long will it takes to complete the whole screening?

Blood and urine tests take about 10 minutes. For ultrasound, exercise stress test and echocardiography, it can take up to 30 minutes to an hour for each test.

  • 6. Can you email me the test results?

Our patients’ confidentiality is of the utmost importance to us. We strongly encourage you to come back to the clinic to review your results. If you are unable to come in-person, we are now offering teleconsultation as a complimentary service. There will be no charges incurred for the teleconsultation service.

  • 7. How long do I have to wait for the health screening results?

For blood and urine tests, it will take up to 24-48 hours. For ultrasound, exercise stress test or echocardiogram, the results are immediate.

  • 8. Can I proceed with health screening if I am menstruating?

Yes, you can. However, we will only be able to collect your urine sample 7 days after your menses is over.

  • 9. Can I use insurance panel to do my health screening?

You will need to contact your insurance provider to check for coverage.
