An allergy is an excessive response of the body’s immune system to a normally harmless substance (an allergen) producing IgE (immunoglobulin E). On re-exposure to the given allergen, the body response will trigger the production of histamines, other inflammatory reaction, and discomfort which may lead to severe life-threatening reactions like in the case of the bee sting.
